We offer programs featuring local and nationally-recognized quilting professionals to provide instruction for Guild members and education for the public in the design and technique of quilt making.
Confessions of an Absent Minded Quilter
Join us for a program with Carol Morrissey. We scheduled Carol last year, and due to Covid had to cancel so we are thrilled to have her back. Carol has been featured on The Quilt Show with Ricky Tims and Alex Anderson. We are looking forward to the program.
We also will have a workshop with Carol on Sat. 2-20-2020 at 9 AM where we will learn her method of making cute and colorful fabric postcards. They are 4" x 6". (Fused Applique) Pick from Postcards from the Southwest, Texas Wildflowers or Postcards from Florida. Sign up on our Workshop Sign up page.
Carol Morrissey is a fifth-generation Texas quilter who embraces that heritage with enthusiasm. Her work reflects her love of photography, gardening, nature, and painting. Carol began sewing clothing as a child but didn't make her first quilt until she was in her thirties. Her work has been exhibited and published internationally, and is in many private collections. She enjoys providing programs and workshops to quilt guilds and other groups, sharing her love of quilting, her inspirations, and her techniques with others.
Carol's favorite quote: "If you like something, what's so bad about doin' a lot of it? You never know when it's going to end."
